This article discusses the End of Life (EOL) and End of Service (EOS) of SafeSync for Home.

Note: Safesync for Enterprise is not affected by EOS/EOL.

What Is End Of Life (EOL) / End Of Service (EOS)?

End of Life (EOL) marks the date that orders of SafeSync will no longer be accepted. Also, no further enhancements or cosmetic bugs will be fixed. End of Service (EOS) marks the date that the service and support for SafeSync will be terminated. Users will not be able to download their data and technical support will NOT be available after EOS.

 

When will SafeSync Reach Its EOL/EOS Date?

SafeSync will reach its End of Life (EOL) and End of Service (EOS) on January 31, 2016 and January 31, 2017 respectively.

 

Why did Trend Micro decide to discontinue SafeSync?

The reasoning behind this decision is that we cannot feasibly adapt/update the service to meet the changing consumer needs, environment, and IT usage.

 

Can I Renew My SafeSync Subscription?

No, you cannot renew your subscription after January 31,2016.

 

Will I Lose My Files and data I have stored in SafeSync?

No, you have until your SafeSync (subscription) account is expired, or January 31, 2017 if your account is valid by or after EOS.

 

How can I check my remaining SafeSync subscription?

From the SafeSync program console
  1. Right-click on the SafeSync icon from system tray then select Settings.

  2. Subscription information is shown under the Status tab.

  1. Go to www.safesync.com and sign in your Trend Micro Account.
  2. Subscription information is shown on the upper right hand corner of the web console.

From the MyAccount portal
  1. Go to account.trendmicro.com and sign in your Trend Micro Account.
  2. Under the Products tab, look for the Trend Micro SafeSync.

What will happen to the stored files in SafeSync?

All data stored in Cloud Storage will be purged. Make sure that all your files are downloaded before your SafeSync account is expired or January 31, 2017 if your account is still valid by or after EOS.

 

How can I retrieve all my files?

If my Safesync program expires after January 31, 2017 (End of Service), what will happen to the remaining days of my subscription?

Paid Safesync Subscribers can request for a refund of their remaining subscription anytime until 90 days after January 31, 2017.
Subscribers who got the Safesync program as part of their Trend Micro Security bundle are not eligible to claim a refund.
Customers who are eligible to claim a refund will be notified through email. Please contact our Support team and submit a proof of purchase to request a refund.
