You are getting this message because a new version of Trend Micro Security is ready to be installed on your PC.
You can click “YES” to allow the installation.
Note: The instructions will require a restart, so make sure to close all programs before proceeding with the upgrade.

This can happen due to varying PC environments and setups that prevent the upgrade to be finished.
To resolve this, try to download and install Premium Security again by following the instructions on this Knowledge Base article: Installing Premium Security.
In some cases, older version of your Trend Micro program may not be completely removed.
You can follow the instructions on this article that will guide you to remove the remaining components: "Restart Required" error message keeps showing when installing Trend Micro Security software.
Once they’re completely removed, you can proceed with the installation again.
Note: The instructions will require a restart, so make sure to close all programs before proceeding with the installation.
During the installation, Trend Micro checks for programs that may cause possible computer performance issues when running alongside Trend Micro Security.
Removing these programs will ensure that your PC will run smoothly with Trend Micro Security.

Note: If the program is unable to be removed, you can check or contact the program manufacturer’s website to get assistance on removing their program from your computer.
While some older versions of Trend Micro Security can be installed, we encourage all of our users to upgrade their PCs to a more modern operating system which will provide greater stability and security.
Microsoft has formally announced Windows XP (April 8, 2014) and Windows Vista (April 11, 2017) end of support. Because Microsoft no longer fixes issues on Windows XP and Windows Vista, it has become increasingly difficult for Trend Micro to keep users safe on these operating systems.

The best way to renew your program is via the Trend Micro Security console. Just open it, then click Renew Now or click the Expiration Date. From there, you will be guided for a secure online purchasing.

Yes, you can use the serial number of your Premium Security (serial number starts with 'X') to activate your Mobile Security for Android and Mobile Security for iOS. You can also use it for your Antivirus for Mac.
