"Installation Incomplete... Error Code: #1603, 3002, 0x00000000" error message appears when installing Trend Micro Security Software

You receive the following error message when installing Trend Micro Security software:

Installation Incomplete... Error code: #1625, 0000, 0x000

"Installation Incomplete
A problem prevented the installer from completely setting up Trend Micro Security. (Error code: #1603, 3002, 0x00000000).
No changes have been made to your computer."

This happens due to compatibility issues between some modules of Trend Micro Security and the new processor type Apollo Lake.

To resolve this issue, do the following:

Check if your computer uses the affected processor

To check the processor of your computer, do the following:

  1. On your keyboard, press Windows Windows Key + R keys. This will open the Run window.
  2. On the Open field, type "Control Panel", then press ENTER. Control Panel window should open.
  3. Click System and Security, then click System. You should see the processor type under System section.
  4. Go to the Intel Website, then check if your processor is included on the list.
Add the path of Trend Micro installer package to the Environment Path Variable

To add the path, do the following:

  1. Click the button below to download the AddPathVariable.exe:


  2. Right-click the AddPathVariable.exe icon, then choose Run as Administrator.
  3. Click Yes when the User Account Control window appears.
  4. The following message will appear once you successfully added the file path:
    “SUCCESS: Specified value was saved.
    Thank you for running the tool.
    Press any key to continue...”
  5. Press any key to continue.
Uninstall Potentially Unwanted Application (PUA)

To uninstall PUAs, do the following:

  1. On your keyboard, press the Windows Windows Key + R keys. This will open the Run window.
  2. In the Open field, type "appwiz.cpl", then press ENTER.
  3. Browse through the program list and uninstall any programs that match the characteristics of a Potentially Unwanted Application.
