Your receive the following error message when installing your Trend Micro Security:
The installer could not set up an important component needed by Trend Micro Maximum Security. (error code: #1603, 3003, 0xe0120010)
No changes have been made to this computer."
This happens when there are remnants of the old Trend Micro on your computer.
To resolve the issue, choose any of the options below for instructions:
- Remove remnants of previous installation using the Uninstall Tool

To check the registry for errors, do the following:
- On your keyboard, press the Windows + R keys.
- In the Open field, type "regedit", then press ENTER. The Windows Registry Editor window will open.
Click Yes when the User Account Control window appears.
- Look for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Optionsand delete the Image File Execution Options.
