Problem Description

OfficeScan 10.5 support for multiple VDI hypervisors allows customers with VDI enviroments to connect to multiple VDI hypervisors. This new feature is not previously available in OfficeSan.
The procedure below shows how to configure OfficeScan VDI plugin to connect to multiple VDI hypervisors.

Solution

Please do the following to configure the OfficeScan VDI Plugin:
  1. Clear the VDI information in OfficeScan server console.
  2. Add new the VDI server information in the OfficeScan web console shown below.
    add new vCenter connection
  3. Test the connection and save it.
  4. Create a backup of the ..\PCCSRV\Private\vdi.ini file. This file should contain the following items:
Server_00_enable=
Server_00_server_type=
Server_00_server_ip=
Server_00_server_port=
Server_00_server_protocol=
Server_00_login_user=root
Server_00_login_password=
Server_00_proxy_enable=
Server_00_proxy_ip=
Server_00_proxy_port=
Server_00_proxy_user=
Server_00_proxy_password=
  1. Repeat Steps 1, 2, and 3 for each new connection.
  2. Save all VDI hypervisor information to the files created.VDI files
  3. Merge all files created in Step 4 into a single VDI.ini file. Update the each unique item by using the sequence number from 00 and from step 1.
Example:
1st hypervisor:
Server_00_enable=
Server_00_server_type=
Server_00_server_ip=
Server_00_server_port=
Server_00_server_protocol=
Server_00_login_user=root
Server_00_login_password=
Server_00_proxy_enable=
Server_00_proxy_ip=
Server_00_proxy_port=
Server_00_proxy_user=
Server_00_proxy_password=
2nd hypervisor
Server_01_enable=
Server_01_server_type=
Server_01_server_ip=
Server_01_server_port=
Server_01_server_protocol=
Server_01_login_user=root
Server_01_login_password=
Server_01_proxy_enable=
Server_01_proxy_ip=
Server_01_proxy_port=
Server_01_proxy_user=
Server_01_proxy_password=
  1. Update the server count to the corresponding number:
[vdiServer]
Server_Counts=
Example: If you have 3 hypervisors, set “Server_Counts=3”.
Note: There is no need to click Save on the VDI page from the OfficeScan console anymore. The vdi.ini file will be overwritten if the Save button is clicked.
