“Installation Incomplete... Error code: #1603, 3003, 0x000” error message appears when installing Trend Micro Titanium

Problem Description

The following error message appears when installing your Trend Micro Titanium:
Installation Incomplete
"Installation Incomplete
A problem prevented the installer from completely setting up Trend Micro...
Error code: #1603, 3003, 0x000"
This can happen if Titanium failed to install the Uniclient component.

Solution

To resolve the issue, do any of the following:

STEP 1: Upgrade Titanium to the latest version

Depending on your product, follow the steps in any of these KB articles:
Notes: 
  • FFF can be any letter. 
  • xxxx can be any number.

 

STEP 2: Uninstall Google Desktop

Check if you have an older version of Google Desktop installed on your computer. If you do, upgrade to the newest version or uninstall the older version. Follow the steps below:
  • Windows XP
    1. Go to Start > Control Panel.
    2. Click Add/Remove Programs.
    3. Select the program you wish to remove, then click Remove or Uninstall.
    4. Wait for the program to be uninstalled, then restart your computer when asked.
  • Windows Vista and 7
    1. Go to Start > Control Panel.
    2. Click  Programs > Programs and Features.
    3. Select the program you wish to remove, then click Remove or Uninstall.
    4. Wait for the program to be uninstalled, then restart your computer when asked.
  • Windows 8
    1. Hover your mouse to the bottom left corner of the screen until you see the Start pictogram. 
    2. Right-click on the Start pictogram, then click Control Panel.
    3. Select the program you wish to remove, then click Remove or Uninstall.
    4. Wait for the program to be uninstalled, then restart your computer when asked.

 

STEP 3: Uninstall Potentially Unwanted Programs

  1. Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard. This will open the Run window.
  2. In the Open field, type "appwiz.cpl" and then click OK. The Control Panel will appear.
  3. Uninstall the following software from your computer:
    • All Music Toolbar
    • All Movies Toolbar
    • Bear Share
  4. Restart the computer
  5. Try installing Trend Micro Titanium again.
    If the issue persists, proceed to Step 4: Stop unnecessary services from running.

 

STEP 4: Stop unnecessary services from running

  1. Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard. This will open the Run window.
  2. In the Open field, type "services.msc" and then click OK. The Services window will appear.
  3. Under Name, look for Datamngr Coordinator.
  4. Right-click Datamngr Coordinator, then click Properties.
  5. Under Startup Type, select Manual
  6. Click Apply, and then click OK.
  7. Restart the computer.
  8. Try installing Trend Micro Titanium again.

 

STEP 5: Update Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package

Make sure that your computer has a compatible Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package installed. Check the Microsoft Download Center for instructions.

 

STEP 6: Re-Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package

  1. Uninstall the existing Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package in the Control Panel. You can do this by following the steps below:
    • For Windows XP:
      1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.
      2. Select Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package, then click Remove.
    • For Windows Vista and Windows 7:
      1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features > Uninstall a program.
      2. Select Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package, then click Uninstall.
    • For Windows 8:
      1. Right-click the bottom-left corner of the screen, then click Control Panel from the pop up menu.
      2. Under Programs group, select Uninstall a program.
      3. Select Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package, then click Uninstall.
  2. Download and install the fresh package of Microsoft Visual C++ from the Microsoft articles.
