Problem Description

Learn how to remove persistent threats using the Rescue Disk feature of your Trend Micro 2015 software.
Note: USB 3.0 is currently not supported in Rescue Disk.

Solution

The Trend Micro Rescue Disk allows you to use a CD, DVD, or USB drive to examine your computer without launching your Windows operating system. It finds and removes persistent or difficult-to-clean security threats that can lurk deep within your operating system.
To run this tool using a USB drive, you will need an empty USB drive (128MB or larger).
Important:
  • We recommend that you print out this document, bookmark this page or watch a video tutorial before proceeding because you will be asked to restart your computer during the procedure.
  • Any content that is saved on the USB will be erased during the process.
  • USB 3.0 is currently not supported in Rescue Disk.
