“This software has already been installed on your computer” appears when installing a Titanium program

Problem Description

You receive the following error message during the installation of your Titanium program:
This software has already been installed on your computer
"This software has already been installed on your computer"


You receive this error message because you still have an older version of your Trend Micro program installed on your computer. This usually happens if the installer you used before came from the Order Confirmation email.
To resolve this, do the following:
  • Use the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit to remove all the components of the old version of your program. Check this Knowledge Base article for the steps Uninstalling Trend Micro program using Diagnostic Toolkit.
  • Restart your computer after uninstalling the older version for the changes to take effect.
  • Install your Titanium program.
