Problem Description

You get the following error message when installing your Trend Micro Titanium program and the progress bar stops at 70 to 100 percent.
Installation Incomplete - Error code: #1603, 3002, 0x000
(Titanium 2013)
Installation Incomplete - Error code: #1603, 3002, 0x000
(Titanium 2014)
"Installation Incomplete
A problem prevented the installer from completely setting up Trend Micro Titanium. No changes have been made to your computer.
Please close any other programs currently open before restarting the installer.
Error code: #1603, 3002, 0x000"

Windows XP, Vista and 7

  1. Delete the contents of Temp folder.
    1. Click Start > Computer.
    2. Double-click Local Disk (C:) > Windows > Temp.
    3. Delete all the files inside Temp folder.
  2. Delete tmtdi.sys.
    1. Click Start > Computer.
    2. Double-click Local Disk (C:) > Windows > System32 > drivers.
    3. Delete tmtdi.sys file.
  3. Run the Permission Tool.
    1. Download and save the Permission Tool on your desktop.
    2. Extract the file. Type "novirus" when you are prompted for a password.
    3. Double-click PermissionTool.exe to run it.
  4. Delete the Trend Micro folder in the following locations:
    • C:\Program Files folder
    • For Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data folder
    • For Windows Vista and Windows 7: C:\ProgramData folder
  5. Delete the Trend Micro registry entries. Do the following:
    Important: Editing your computer's registry can cause serious errors on your computer. Always create a backup before making any changes. If you need assistance, you can view the Help file by clicking Help > Help Topics on the Registry Editor window. You can also contact Trend Micro Technical Support.
    1. Press Windows Windows Key + R keys on your keyboard to open the Run window.
    2. On the Open field, type "regedit" then press Enter. The Registry Editor window will open.
    3. Delete the TrendMicro registry entries in the following locations:
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software
      • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software
  6. Reinstall your Titanium program. For instructions, click on your program below:

 

Windows 8

  1. Delete the contents of the Temp folder, do the following:
    1. Press the Windows Windows Key + E keys on your keyboard to open the File Explorer.
    2. Double-click  Local Disk (C:) > Windows > Temp.
    3. Delete all the files inside Temp folder.
  2. Delete tmtdi.sys, do the following:
    1. Press the Windows Windows Key + E keys on your keyboard to open the File Explorer.
    2. Double-click Local Disk (C:) > Windows > System32 > drivers.
    3. Delete tmtdi.sys file.
