The Trend Micro Vault helps keep your sensitive files secure. With it, you can do the following:

Easily block casual access to files in the vault
|
|
|
|
|
·
|
Seal the vault completely if your computer is lost or stolen
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
To setup the Trend Micro Vault, please follow the steps below:
|
|
|
|
1.

Open your Trend Micro Titanium’s main console by double-clicking the Trend Micro icon on your desktop or in your system tray.
|
|
|
|
|
2.
|
Click the Tools icon, then select Trend Micro Vault.
|
|
|
|
|
3.
|
Click OK to continue when you see the introductory window.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Note: If you do not want to see this window again, tick Don’t show this introduction again before clicking OK.
|
|
|
|
4.
|
Type your email address and password on the fields provided, then click Create.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
You will receive this notification if you have not set a password for your program yet. This will also protect the following features:
|
|
|
|
|
|

Parental Controls
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
·
|
Data Theft Prevention
|
|
|
|
|
|
A window will appear saying that your Trend Micro Vault is being initiated. Once complete, you will see a confirmation screen.
|

|
|
|
|

To protect your files, drag them to the Trend Micro Vault icon on your desktop.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Note: Dragging a file or folder into the vault will move it there instead of just copying it. This happens even if you hold down CTRL while clicking the file.
|

|
|
|
To lock and unlock the vault, right-click the icon on your desktop and select the appropriate option:

|
|
|
|
|

|
|
|
Unlock
|
Lock
|
|
|
|
Important: If your computer is lost or stolen, seal the vault immediately through the Report Stolen service. To do this, follow the steps below:
|
|
|
|
1.

Go to your Trend Micro Account page, then click Report Stolen.
|
|
|
|
|
2.
|
Provide your email address and password.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Your Trend Micro Vault regularly checks if you have reported your computer as stolen or missing. If it receives your report, it will automatically block all access to the files inside the vault. Even the correct password will not be able to open it.
