“Too Many Installations” appears when activating my Titanium program

Problem Description

You receive the following error message when you activate your Titanium program:
"Too Many Installations"
This happens when you have installed the program too many times.

Why am I getting this message?

The program can cover multiple devices depending on your program's License seats. Be advised that every installation of your program is equivalent to one license seat to be used, regardless if you are installing it on the same computer.
This error message will show once you are trying to activate the serial number after the program has used all available license seats.
Here are the instances where you may encounter this error message:
  • Reformatting your hard drive, then reinstalling the software multiple times
  • Uninstalling an older version manually before installing the latest version of your program.
  • Installing the program multiple times in the same computer
Note: If you have a lot of computers to cover, you can do any of the following:
  • Buy additional protection for them by clicking Make another purchase
  • Activate another serial number by clicking Use another Serial Number
  • Manage your license seats by accessing your Trend Micro My Account

 

What can I do to resolve this issue?

To resolve this issue, you can go ahead replace a used license and transfer it to the current PC/device: To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. Type your password in the Password field, then click Next.
    Too Many Installations
    Note: Click Forgot your password if you do not remember your password to retrieve a temporary one by email.
  2. Select the Computer Name you want to replace.
    By default, the Windows name of your computer will appear in the Computer Name field. To change the information, type a new Computer Name for this installation.
    Note: You can use any name or description you like, but make sure to select something different from the one you selected above.
    For example: My 2nd computer.
    Select Computer Name
  3. Click Next.
    A confirmation of your registration will appear.

  4. Click Finish.
    You have activated the protection of your computer.
