“Too Many Installations” error message appears when activating Trend Micro Titanium

Problem Description

You receive the following error message when activating Trend Micro Titanium on your computer:
"Too Many Installations"
This can happen due to any of the following reasons:
  • You tried to install and activate the program on more than three computers/devices.
  • You installed the program on the same computer more than once.
  • You manually uninstalled an older version before installing the latest version.
  • You reformatted your hard drive or performed a System Restore, then reinstalled the program several times.


To resolve the issue, do the following:
  1. Type your password in the Password field, then click Next.

    Note: Click Forgot your password if you do not remember your password to retrieve a temporary one by email.
  2. Select the Computer Name you want to replace. By default, the Windows name of your computer will appear in the Computer Name field. To change the information, type a new Computer Name for this installation
    Note: You can use any name or description you like, but make sure to select something different from the one you selected above.
    For example: My 2nd computer
    For Titanium 2013:
    Transfer Protection
    For Titanium 2014:
    Reach the limit
  3. Click Next.
    A confirmation of your registration will appear.
    Protection Activated
  4. Click Finish. You have now activated the protection for this computer.
Note: If you have a lot of computers, you can buy additional protection for them by clicking Make another purchase. You can also click Use another Serial Number if you already have another serial number handy.
