I get a message saying my serial number will not work with my Trend Micro program

Problem Description

I am getting one of following error message when typing my serial number:

 

  • You cannot use a Trend Micro Internet Security Pro serial number for Trend Micro Internet Security. Need help?

 

  • You cannot use a Trend Micro Internet Security serial number for Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware. Need help?

 

Solution

This error message appears when the serial number entered is not supported by the product currently installed. To resolve the issue, download and install the correct product based from the serial number you are using below:

 
        1. If the serial number begins with X (for example, XFFF-0012-3456-7890, where F represents any letter), download and install Trend Micro Internet Security Pro.  For instructions refer to solution EN-1055194.

 
        2. If the serial number begins with P (for example, PFFF-0012-3456-7890-1234, where F represents any letter), download and install Trend Micro Internet Security. For instructions refer to solution EN-1055195.
