Hot Fix Overview

Hot fix - build 3665 resolves this issue and makes sure that a newly created mail scan rule in the SMD configuration database will be saved in Notes Client 6.5.6.

NOTICE: This hot fix was developed as a workaround or solution to a customer-reported problem. As such, this hot fix has received limited testing and has not been certified as an official product update.

Consequently, THIS HOT FIX IS PROVIDED "AS IS". TREND MICRO MAKES NO WARRANTY OR PROMISE ABOUT THE OPERATION OR PERFORMANCE OF THIS HOT FIX NOR DOES IT WARRANT THAT THIS HOT FIX IS ERROR FREE. To resolve the issue:

1.

Request the smd_30_aix_en_hfb3665.tar.Z file from Trend Micro Technical Support.

For Premium Support Program (PSP) clients, contact your Technical Account Manager (TAM) directly.

2.

Make sure that ScanMail for Domino for AIX Version 3.0 patch 3 build 3636 is installed before applying this hot fix.

3.

Extract the hot fix files to a local folder by running the following commands:

uncompress smd_30_aix_en_hfb3665.tar.Z

tar -vxf smd_30_aix_en_hfb3665.tar

4.

In the extracted files, run the "./updsmd" command to start the installation.

After the updsmd tool finishes, the SMD monitor will convert the smconf.nsf file, which contains the updated database template.

5.

Check the build number in the Lotus Notes menu by going to Action > Show BuildNumber.

The build number should show "3.0.0.3665" to indicate that this hot fix was successfully applied.

6.

Update your scan engine and virus pattern files.
