Problem Description

This article provides a guide on how you can install WFBS 9.0. You can choose to install the product using Typical Installation or Custom Installation.

Using Typical Install

You can also refer to the video guide on how to do a Typical Installation of WFBS 9.0 to help you with the steps.
  1. Download the WFBS 9.0 installer and save it in your machine.
  2. Right-click the file and run the installer as Administrator.

  3. Click the Start button to extract the files.

  4. Click Next to begin the installation.

  5. Select I accept the terms of the license agreement, then click Next to continue.

  6. Under Setup Type, choose Typical Installation and click Next.

  7. Type the Activation Code including the dashes then click Next.

  8. On the WFBS Advanced Components Overview page, click Next

  9. Specify the path where you want to install the program. Click Next to continue.

  10. Type the desired password for the web console and the Security Agent, then click Next.

  11. On the Recipient(s) field, enter the email address to whom the reports and notifications will be sent.

  12. Tick Enable the Smart Protection Network and click Next to continue.

  13. Click Next to setup the Messaging Security Agent (MSA).

  14. Select the Yes, I would like to install Messaging Protection option to install the MSA.

  15. Enter the Exchange Account name and Password and then click Next.

  16. On the Summary page, click Next to continue with the installation.

  17. Click Next to install the Third-party Components.

  18. Click the Finish button to complete the setup.

Using Custom Install

You can also refer to the video guide on how to do a Custom Installation of WFBS 9.0 to help you with the steps.
  1. Download the WFBS 9.0 installer and save it in your machine.
  2. Right-click the file and run the installer as Administrator.

  3. Click the Start button to extract the files.

  4. Click Next to begin the installation.

  5. Select I accept the terms of the license agreement, then click Next to continue.

  6. Under Setup Type, choose Custom Installation and click Next.

  8. On the WFBS Advanced Components Overview page, click Next

  9. Specify the path where you want to install the program. Click Next to continue.

  10. Select where the setup will store the Smart Scan Server Database, then click Next.

  11. Select the Components to be installed. Then click Next to continue.

  12. Click Next to start the configuration of the Security Server.

  13. Choose if you want to run a Pre-installation scan or not, then click Next.
  14. Select the web serverthat will host the Security Server.
    If IIS is installed choose any of the first two options.
    If IIS is not installed, choose Apache.

  15. Select if you are going to use the FQDN or the IP address for the Web Server Address, then click Next.

  16. Type the desired password for the web console and the Security Agent, then click Next.

  18. Tick Enable the Smart Protection Network and click Next to continue.

  19. If the Network is using a Proxy, fill out the necessary fields. Otherwise, click Next.
  20. Click Next to start the configuration of the Security Agent.

  21. Leave the default destination for all Security Agent installation paths as is and click Next.
  22. Select the default Server and Desktop group settings and then click Next.

  23. Provide the login credentials if the Proxy Server is available. Otherwise, click Next.
  24. Click Next to begin the configuration of the MSA.

  25. Choose Yes to install the MSA. Then provide the Exchange Account and Password and click Next.

  26. Specify the installation path for the MSA and then click Next.
  27. Click Next on the Summary page to continue the installation.
  28. Click Next to install the Third-party Components.
