Problem Description

Learn how to reinstall the latest version of your Titanium program. This article is applicable for the following scenarios:

  • Upgrading from an old version to the latest Titanium version
  • Transferring Titanium antivirus to a new computer
  • Accidentally uninstalled Titanium
  • Delete program by mistake
  • Lost Titanium during system restore
  • Hard drive crashed
  • Hard drive was replaced and needs to reinstall Titanium
  • Hard drive was formatted
  • Computer was replaced / switching pc
  • Operating system was reinstalled
  • Operating system was upgraded
  • Installing without a disc
  • Reinstallation of the program

Solution

You will get better performance and protection when you install the latest version of your Titanium program. The program upgrade is free as long as you have a valid subscription. To install the latest version of your Titanium program, do either of the following:

OPTION 1: Download and reinstall Titanium

To download and reinstall your Trend Micro Titanium program, follow the steps below:
  1. Get a copy of your serial number. For instructions on where to find it, check this Knowledge Base article: Finding the serial number of your Trend Micro program.
  2. Uninstall your current Trend Micro program. Check this Knowledge Base article for instructions: Uninstalling Trend Micro program using the Diagnostic Toolkit.
  3. Check the first few letters of your serial number to know which program you need to download and install.
  4. Compare it with the programs below, then click the product that matches your serial number:

OPTION 2: Reinstall Titanium using a CD

Important: Make sure your CD is for the latest version of Trend Micro Titanium.
To reinstall your Trend Micro Titanium from a CD, follow the steps below:
  1. Get a copy of your serial number. For instructions on where to find it, check this Knowledge Base article: Finding the serial number of your Trend Micro program
  2. Uninstall your current Trend Micro program. Check this Knowledge Base article for instructions: Uninstalling your Trend Micro program using the Diagnostic Toolkit.
  3. Insert the CD in the CD-ROM drive.
    The Titanium Internet Security installation window will appear.
  4. Click Install Program. The installer will extract the files it needs.
  5. Wait for a moment while the program checks if your computer meets the system requirements.
    A window will appear if there is no conflicting software found or if it meets the system requirements.
  6. Select Paid version.
  7. Type your serial number on the fields provided, then click Next.
  8. Read the License Agreement, then click Agree and Install. The installation may take a few minutes. The Activate Your Protection window will appear.
  9. Type your email address, then click Next.
  10. Sign in to your Trend Micro Account (My Account) or register a new account. You can do this by following one of the steps below:
    • If you already have a Trend Micro Account (My Account) from a previous registration: Type your password, then click Next.
    Note: Do the following if you do not remember your password:
    1. Click Forgot Password.
    2. Check your email to retrieve the password, then type that in the Sign in window.
    3. Click Next.
    • If you do not have a Trend Micro MyAccount, follow the steps below:
    1. Provide the information needed to create a new account.
    2. Read the Trend Micro Privacy Statement, then confirm that you agree with it.
    3. Verify if the information you provided is correct, then click Next to proceed.
  11. Click Finish to complete the activation.
  12. Click Close when you see the Introductory window.
    Note: Tick Don't show this page again if you do not want this window to appear every time you open the program. You will see the main console.
    From here, you can access and configure your program's different features and settings.
  13. Click Scan to run an initial scan. Trend Micro recommends completing this step to begin protecting your computer.
    Note: Click ?, then select Online Help if you need assistance or more information.
