Problem Description

Normal WFBS Security Server operations will use up disk space that may range from as low as 1.2GB up to 6.0 GB depending on the usage.

However, under some occasions when the Security Server is managing a lot of agents including the Messaging Security Agent, a disk usage of up to 9GB may occur.

Example: 9GB usage may occur when the Security Server of WFBS 6.0's Messaging Security Agent is installed, Smart Scan mode is enabled, and debugging is also enabled, all at the same time.

Note: Lack of free space may cause the Security Server to stop updating.

To regularly free up disk space, you can use the Disk Cleaner tool to clear up unused WFBS files such as backup files, log files and unused pattern files.

Solution

To use the tool, do the following:

Download the Disk Cleaner here.

Note: An administrator privilege is needed to run this tool on the Security Server. If the operating system's User Access Control is enabled, a popup may appear asking for administrator privilege before the tool executes.
