Upgrading to the latest version is free as long as your subscription is valid. Since you will be using the same serial number, the expiration date will be the same. To upgrade your program to the latest version, please follow the steps below:

Take note of your Trend Micro program’s serial number.
|
|
|
|
|
2.
|
Once you have your serial number, uninstall your program. For instructions, check this solution: How to uninstall my Trend Micro program using the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit.

|
|
|
3.
|
After the uninstallation, download and run the installer file. Click your Windows version to see how:
|

|
|
|
|
Note: If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, click here to see how you can check if you are using a 32-bit or 64-bit version.

Read the License Agreement, then select I accept the terms of the license agreement.

Click Next.
|

Type your serial number in the field provided, then click Next.
|
|
|
|
|

|
Select Regular Installation (recommended), then click Next.
|
|
|
|
|
8.
|
You will be prompted to activate your program. Click Activate Now.
|

|
|
|
|
A window will appear confirming your successful registration.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Note: If you get the error “Too Many Installations”, type your registered email address and password on the field provided, then click Next.
|
|
|
|
|
9.
|
Update your Trend Micro program by clicking Update Now.
|
|
|
|
|
10.
|
Start the initial scan by clicking Scan Now.
|
