To run an online scan using our free scanner, HouseCall, please follow the instructions below:

1.

Click on the Windows version you are running from the options below:

·         Windows XP

·         Windows Vista or Windows 7 (32-bit)

·         Windows Vista or Windows 7 (64-bit)

On the File Download window, click Run.

Wait while the download completes.

4.

When you are prompted to confirm whether you want to run the software, click Run again.

The HouseCall window will appear.

Wait while HouseCall downloads the necessary components to run on your computer.

Note: The amount of time it takes to download the program components depends on the speed of your Internet connection.

Once the download completes and the License Agreement page appears, read the agreement, select I accept the terms of the license agreement, and click Next.

7.

To select the type of scan you want to run, click Settings.

Go to the Scan Type tab and tick the type of scan you want to run then click OK.

See below for more information on the different types of scans:

·         Quick Scans run a quick check on areas where malicious software (malware) is most likely to be found.

·         Full System Scans thoroughly check all the files and folders in your computer for viruses and spyware.

Note: These types of scans may take a while to run completely, depending on how large your files are and how many files and folders are on your computer.

·         Custom Scans allow you to select which files and folders you want HouseCall to scan.

9.

Click Scan Now to start the scan.

10.

Wait until the scan is complete. A window showing you the scan progress will appear.

11.

When the scan is finished and you see the summary of threats found on your computer as well as the actions taken for any detected malware, either rerun the scan or close HouseCall by clicking Scan Again or Close.
