Configuring profile settings on your Home Network Security app

Learn how to configure the settings of a profile on your Home Network Security App.

To configure the settings, do the following:

 


Accessing profile settings
To access the profile settings, do the following:
  1. On your mobile device, open your Home Network Security App.
  2. Tap the Menu icon.
  3. Tap Family.
  4. Choose a profile.
  5. Tap Settings.

Configuring your profile settings
Name
This allows you to change the name of the profile. To change the name, do the following:
  1. Tap the arrow icon beside the current name.
  2. Type the new name of the profile.
  3. Tap the arrow icon located at the upper left corner to save the changes.

 

Website Filtering
This allows you to configure Website Filtering preferences. To configure this setting, do the following:
  1. If you are configuring this setting for the first time, tap Set Up Now. Otherwise, tap the arrow beside Website Filtering.
    • Turn on Get Notifications to receive a notification whenever any device on your selected profile visits a website that falls under one of the selected website categories.
    • Turn on Block to block access to the selected websites whenever any device on your selected profile visits it.
    • Select types of website under the Website Category.
    Note: Tap the information icon to know more about the website categories.
  2. Tap the arrow icon at the upper left corner to save the changes.

 

Inappropriate App Used
This allows you to configure Inappropriate App Usage preferences. To configure this setting, do the following:

 

  1. If you are configuring this setting for the first time, tap Set Up Now. Otherwise, tap the arrow beside Inappropriate App Used.
    • Turn on Get Notifications to receive a notification whenever any device on your selected profile opens an app that falls under one of the selected app categories.
    • Select types of app under the App Category.
    Note: Tap the information icon to know more about the app categories.
  2. Tap the arrow icon at the upper left corner to save the changes.

 

Bedtime
This allows you to configure Bedtime preferences. To configure this setting, do the following:
  1. If you are configuring this setting for the first time, tap Set Up Now. Otherwise, tap the arrow beside Bedtime.
      • Turn on Get Notifications to receive a notification whenever any device on your selected profile uses the internet during the schedule set.
      • Turn on Block Internet Access to block access to the internet whenever any device on your selected profile tries to use the internet during the schedule set.
      • Select the From and To specific time to set the network usage schedule.
    Note: You are not allowed to set a schedule when both Get Notifications and Block Internet Access options are turned off.
  2. Tap the arrow icon at the upper left corner to save the changes.

 

Connected at Home
Turn on this option to receive notifications on your Home Network Security App timeline whenever a selected device on a profile connects to the home network between 12 PM and 10 PM.

To configure the set up, do the following:
  1. If you are configuring the setting for the first time, tap on Set Up Now. Otherwise, tap the arrow beside Connected at Home.
  2. Move the slider to the right to get notifications whenever the selected device/s are connected between 12 PM and 10 PM.
  3. You can select which devices to monitor by clicking the checkbox next to the device name.

Removing a Profile
Remove This Person
This option will delete the selected profile. All devices under this profile will be unassigned.
