Configuring the Web Threats setting of Trend Micro Security
Learn how to configure the Web Threats setting of your Trend Micro Security software.
Trend Micro maintains a database of risky websites that have a history of transmitting malicious software or supporting online fraud. This article provides information on how to protect yourself from unsafe sites using the Trend Micro security software
- Double-click on the Trend Micro desktop icon to open the main console.
- Click on the Device tab.
- Click on Configure.
- Click on Internet & Email Controls, then click on Web Threats.
|High||Prevents you from opening sites that pose even a slight risk of transmitting viruses
and spyware. This setting also blocks harmless sites that might have been hijacked in the past.
|Normal||Blocks websites that have characteristics associated with online fraud, or that show
signs of transmitting viruses and spyware. This setting also blocks unrated sites that might pose a threat.
|Low||Only blocks websites verified as dangerous. These sites can transmit viruses and
spyware or actively support online fraud.
Note: Marking this checkbox will install an Add-On for Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Disabling Add-Ons within the web browsers will stop this protection from working.
