[Hotfix] Unable to open Microsoft Office 2016 apps when Trend Micro Security is enabled

You are unable to use or open Microsoft Office 2016 applications when your Trend Micro Security program is enabled.

Microsoft Office 2016 applications are as follows:

  • Microsoft Word 2016
  • Microsoft Excel 2016
  • Microsoft Powerpoint 2016
  • Microsoft Outlook 2016
  • Microsoft OneNote 2016
  • Microsoft Publisher 2016
  • Microsoft Access 2016
To resolve the issue, run and install the hotfix by doing the following:
  • To install this hotfix, you must log onto your computer using an account with administrator privileges. If you have installed software on your computer before, you probably have these privileges.
  • We recommend that you print out this document or bookmark this page before proceeding because you will be asked to restart your computer during the procedure.
  1. Click the button below to download the hotfix:



  2. Double-click the Ti_1100_win_en_AMSP50_UMH_hfb1395.exe icon to run it.
  3. Click Yes when the User Account Control appears.
  4. Choose I accept the terms of the license agreement, then click Next.
  5. Click Install.
  6. When a warning window appears, click OK.
    An "Installation successful!" message will appear after the hotfix has finished installing.
  7. Restart your computer.
