You receive the following error message when activating your Trend Micro Security software:
"An error occured during the transfer of your activation information.
Please contact Trend Micro technical support for help, and mention the error code 0x96000526."
"Unable to respond to your request.
Please contact Trend Micro technical support for help, and mention the error code 0x96000077"
The last 3 to 4 digits of the error code may have different numbers as shown above.
This may happen if the retail store has not yet activated the serial number on their end.
It may also happen when the server rejects the communication because the serial number does not match the installer.
To resolve this issue, do the following depending on where you purchased the program:
- Check if a card was provided upon purchase and indicates that the serial number must be activated on a retail store.
