Configuring the Exception List of Trend Micro Security software

Learn how to add or remove the following to the exception list of your Trend Micro Security software:

  • Files
  • Folders
  • Programs
  • Websites
  • Wireless Connection

To Configure the Exception List of your Trend Micro Security Software, do the following:

  1. Open the main console of your Trend Micro Security software. Do either of the following:
    • Double-click the Trend Micro  icon on your desktop.
    • Double-click the Trend Micro  icon on your system tray.
  2. Click Settings (gear icon). This will open the Protection Settings window.

  3. Click Exception Lists .

  4. Choose any of the options below to configure:

    To add programs or folders to the Exception Lists, do the following:

    1. Click Programs/folders,  then click Add.

    2. Click Browse.

    3. Browse for the folder/program to add, then click Open.

       Choose or program to open

    4. Click OK .
    5. Click Apply, then click OK.

    To remove programs or folders to the Exception Lists, do the following:

    1. Click Programs/folders.
    2. Tick the program or folder you want to remove, then click the Remove  button.

    3. Click Apply, then click OK.

    To add or block websites, do the following:

    1. Click Website,  then click Add.
       Website
    2. Type the website you want to be on the exception list and set the response to Block, Trust certificate or Trust website then click OK.

      You can change the Response type of existing websites by clicking the Edit button.

    3. Click Apply, then click OK .
    Note: If your web browsers are open, you will need to restart them to apply the changes.

    To remove wireless connections, do the following:

    1. Click Wireless Connection.

    2. Click the Access Point you want to remove and then click Remove.
    3. Click Apply, then click OK.
