Checking if you have properly installed Trend Micro Security

This article shows you how to verify if your Trend Micro Security program has been installed properly on your computer.

To check if your program was installed correctly, follow the steps below:

  1. Open Trend Micro Security's main console by doing any of the following:
    • Double-click the Trend Micro icon desktop shortcut.
    • Double-click the Trend Micro icon on the system tray, found on the bottom-right corner.

    An introductory window should appear.

  2. Click Close when you are done reading.
    Note: Tick Don't show this page again to stop the introductory window from appearing every time you open your program.
  3. Check if you can see the main console as shown below. Here, you can access the different features of your program and configure its settings.

  4. Perform a manual update:
    1. Click Identity   (account icon), then select About the Software.

      The About Your Software window will appear and automatically check for available updates.

    2. Click Close   once the download is complete or if there are no new updates available.

  5. Run a Quick Scan:
    1. Click the arrow beside Scan, then select Quick Scan.

      The scan window will appear. Wait for the scan to finish.

    2. Click Close   to close the scan results.
