Managing your Trend Micro Account (MyAccount)

Trend Micro Account (MyAccount) is an online tool you can use to view and manage your subscription, account information, and registration information for all installations. You can also use this tool to renew your subscription or cancel the automatic renewal.
Note: Your Trend Micro Account is automatically created when you install and register your Trend Micro program. This is done during registration, when you are asked to specify an email address and password.
If you purchased your Trend Micro Security software from Best Buy or from your Internet Service Provider (ISP), you need to contact Geek Squad or your ISP support team instead. These types of subscription usually have serial number that begins in T.
Select the activity you want to do with your Trend Micro Account:

Disabling automatic renewal

To disable the automatic renewal of your subscription, follow the steps below:
  1. Log in to your Trend Micro Account (MyAccount).
    Your homepage shows which account renews automatically.
  2. Click the green Auto-Renew ON slider.

  3. Click Disable Now.

    When you have successfully canceled Auto-Renew, you should see Renew Now.
Important: Disabling the Automatic Renewal does not stop renewal notification through email. Should you want to stop receiving the email notification to renew, you need to click the option to Unsubscribe located at the lower part of the email.

Cancelling the Trend Micro Subscription

Cancelling your Automatic Renewal does not cancel your subscription. To stop receiving email notification about your subscription, select the Unsubscribe option on the email. You also need to uninstall the Trend Micro program installed on your computer.

 

Transferring or Removing Protection from a device/computer

To check for your protected devices and transfer protection, follow the steps below:
  1. Open the Trend Micro Account (My Account) website.
  2. Type your Trend Micro Account email address and password, and then click Sign In.

  3. Look for your product from the list.

  4. Click the X icon next to the device / computer you wish to remove protection.

    Before removing the protection, check the computer name on each device where the Trend Micro program is installed (if available). For the complete instruction, refer to these Knowledge Base articles:

     

  5. Click Disable Now to confirm the removal.

    The device/computer will be removed from your account and you can now install your Trend Micro program on your new device/computer.

  6. Click the Download button that corresponds to the program that you need to install.

  7. Double click on the installer when the download finishes.
    For instructions on how to install your Trend Micro program, refer to the appropriate Knowledge Base article:

Viewing your Subscription Information through My Account

To log into your Trend Micro MyAccount, do the following:
  1. Go to Trend Micro Account (MyAccount).

  2. Type your email address and password then click Sign In.
    You can now view and manage your Trend Micro subscriptions.
    If you forgot your password and you cannot access the registered email address, refer to this Knowledge Base article: "You did not provide the right information. Please try again." error message appears when logging in to MyAccount.
  3. On the main section of My Account, you will see the following information:
    • All the Trend Micro program registered under your email address.
    • The serial number of your Trend Micro subscription.
    • The remaining days for your Trend Micro subscription.
    • List of devices using your subscription.

Renewing subscription using Trend Micro Account (MyAccount)

To renew your license or subscription via your Trend Micro MyAccount, do the following:
  1. Go to Trend Micro Account (MyAccount).
  2. Type your email address and password then click Sign In.
  3. Click the Renew Now button next to the program that you want to renew.
    Click Renew Now

     


    You will be directed to the Trend Micro Online Store to purchase your subscription renewal.
  4. Follow the prompts to complete the renewal.
If your subscription's expiration date is not updated after purchasing a renewal, refer to this Knowledge Base article: Incorrect expiration date is displayed in the main console of Trend Micro Security.

 

Can I update my credit card details on Trend Micro Account (MyAccount)?

Changing the credit card details is unavailable on the Trend Micro Account portal. You need to manually renew your subscription in advanced if you want to register a new credit card.

Removing an Old or Expired Subscription

Currently, there is no option to manually remove old and expired subscriptions from your account. This account information is retained for your reference.

 

Retrieving the email address registered to Trend Micro Account (MyAccount)

If you forgot the email address you used to register your Trend Micro program, you can find this in your program's Subscription Information section.
To access this information, do any of the following:

 

  1. Right-click the Trend Micro system tray icon.

  2. Click Check Subscription.

  3. Check the email address.

  1. Double-click the Trend Micro icon on your desktop to open the main console.
  2. Click the expiry date.

  1. Go to Trend Micro Account (MyAccount).
  2. Click the Forgot which address you used before? link.
  3. Provide your Trend Micro serial number, then click Check Now.

 

Retrieving a forgotten password

To retrieve a forgotten password, do the following:
  1. Go to Trend Micro Account (MyAccount).

  2. Click Forgot password?.
    Click forgot your password

     

  3. Type the email address you used to register your program.
  4. Type the captcha or characters shown then click Retrieve.

    You will be prompted to check your email to reset your MyAccount password.

  5. Log in to your email and open the email from Trend Micro.
  6. Click change your password now. A new window will open asking for your new password.

  7. Type your new password in the New password field.
  8. Retype your new password in the Confirm new password field.

    Note: Your password should be between 8 and 50 characters long. Make sure to remember your password.
  9. Click Update Password.
  10. Click Sign In.

    If you cannot remember your password and you have already changed your email address, contact our Technical Support for assistance.

 

Merging Accounts

Note: The process of merging accounts will not proceed if both accounts have SafeSync or Password Manager subscription. Only one account should have SafeSync or Password Manager subscription. Also, account merging will be blocked if one of the accounts has a registered Password Manager version 3.5.
To merge the accounts that you have, follow the instructions below:
  1. Go to Trend Micro Account (MyAccount).
  2. Type your email address and password then click Sign In.
    Note:
    • If you forgot the email address used, click Forgot which address you used before?.
    • If you forgot the password you used, click Forgot password?.
  3. Click the Account tab.
  4. Find Merge Accounts and you'll see the 2 options:
    • Merge accounts using a VirusBuster serial number and password
      (Note: This is for Japan users only)
    • Merge accounts using an email address and password
      • Type the email address and password that you want to merge on to the current account that you are using.

      • Check the information and click on Merge Now.

      • Once done, the accounts would now be merged. Click on Sign-In again to check your licenses.

There is no option to merge 2 sets of serial number into one subscription. If you have concerns regarding this, you may contact our Technical Support for assistance.

 

Changing an inactive email address

To change your inactive email address, you need to contact our Technical Support for assistance.

 

Updating Account Information

 

To change your registered name and country, follow the steps below.
  1. Go to Trend Micro Account (MyAccount).
  2. Type your email address and password then click Sign In.

  3. Click the Account tab.

  4. Select or update the information that you want to change.

  5. Click Update Profile.
    You will see a message confirming that you email address has been changed.

To change your registered email address, follow the steps below.
  1. Go to Trend Micro Account (MyAccount).
  2. Type your email address and password then click Sign In.

  3. Click the Account tab.

  4. Type your new email address then click Change Email.
    Click Change Email

     

  5. Click Confirm.

    You will see a message confirming that you email address has been changed.
  6. Click Close. You will be signed out from MyAccount.

  7. Sign in to MyAccount using your new email address and your password.

 

To change your MyAccount password, follow the steps below.
  1. Go to Trend Micro Account (MyAccount).
  2. Type your email address and password then click Sign In.

  3. Click the Account tab.

  4. Type your current password in the Current Password field.
    Update your information
  5. Type your new password in the New Password field.
  6. Retype your password in the Confirm New Password field.
  7. Click Update Profile.
    You will see a message confirming that your information has been changed.

To change your device name description, do the following:
  1. Go to Trend Micro Account (MyAccount).
  2. Type your email address and password then click Sign In.

  3. Click the Product tab.
  4. Look for the program you wish to update.
  5. Click the blue drop down arrow to see the computers activated under this license.

  6. Click the device name you wish to update.

  7. Type the new description for the device then click Change Now.

    The name of the device will now be saved and updated.
