Note: If you are using a dial-up or other Internet connection where you are charged for the amount of time you spend on (or how much data you download from) the Internet, make sure that your router or connection software does not automatically connect to the Internet.

Programs like Trend Micro Antivirus or Trend Micro Internet Security automatically connect to the Internet when checking for available updates. To keep this from happening, you can either configure your router’s settings or disable your Trend Micro program’s Automatic Updates.
