Problem Description

This article describes the step-by-step procedure for upgrading Client Server Messaging Security for SMB (CSM) 3.5 and 3.6 to Worry-Free Business Security (WFBS) Advanced 5.0 /5.1

 

Note: This solution also applies to upgrading Client Server Security for SMB (CS) 3.5 / 3.6 to WFBS Standard 5.0/5.1.

Solution

To upgrade Client Server Messaging Security for SMB (CSM) 3.5 and 3.6 to Worry-Free Business Security (WFBS) Advanced 5.0 /5.1, please do the following:

1.

Back up the Security Server database. Refer to this solution: Files to back up before upgrading to WFBS

   

2.

Delete all log files by doing the following:

   
 

a.

Log on to the CSM console.

     
 

b.

Go to Reports > Maintenance > ManualLog Deletion.

     
 

c.

Under Log Type section, enter "0" on the Delete logs older than field and then click Delete.

     
 

d.

Repeat Step 2c for all Log Types.

   

3.

Do one of the following:

     
 

o

Insert the installation CD on a disk drive.

 

o

Download the WFBS51_Advanced_EN.exe installer file from the Trend Micro Update Center, then unzip the file.

     

4.

Double-click the setup.exe file. The InstallShield Wizard window appears.

   

5.

Click Next. The License Agreement window appears.

   

6.

Select I accept the terms in the license agreement.

   

7.

Click Next. The Setup Status window appears.

   
 

The Setup detects that you have an older version of the product.

   

8.

Click Next.

   
 

When the Security Server and the Client Server Security Agents are upgraded, the Upgrade Messaging Security Agent window appears.

   

9.

Enter the required Exchange server information.

   

10.

Wait for the Messaging Security Agent upgrade process to complete. This may take a few minutes.

   

11.

When the upgrade is finished, select if you will view the readme file or open the WFBS Advanced console.

   

12.

Click Finish.
