Problem Description

Uninstalling the WFBS 6.0 and 7.0 Security Server does not uninstall agents. Administrators must uninstall or move all agents before uninstalling the Trend Micro Security Server.
Important: Uninstalling Trend Micro Security Server also uninstalls the Smart Scan Server.

Solution

To remove the Security Server, please do the following:
  1. On the computer where you installed the server, click Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.
  2. Click Trend Micro Security Server.
  3. Click Change/Remove.
    A confirmation page appears.
    InstallShield Wizard
  4. Click Next.
The Master Uninstaller, the server uninstallation program, prompts you for the administrator password.
    Master Uninstaller Password
  5. Enter the administrator password, then click Next.
Note: If you do not know the password, cancel the uninstallation and use this article to reset the console password: How do you reset the password for the WFBS management console?. After performing this procedure, proceed to Step 1.
If you are using WFBS Advanced and the Messaging Security Agent (MSA) is installed, you will be asked whether you want to uninstall the MSA or not:
    Uninstall Messaging Security Agent
    • If you select Yes, you need to specify a domain administrator account (Domain\Account) for that Exchange Server. If the credentials you entered are correct, the MSA will be uninstalled.
    • If you select No, the MSA will not be uninstalled.
The Master Uninstaller now starts removing the server files.
    Removing Web Server information
  6. When a confirmation message appears after the Security Server has been uninstalled, click Finish.
If prompted, restart the computer and then manually delete the Security Server files and folder manually.
    Uninstallation Complete
If the procedure fails, refer to this solution article: Manually uninstalling the Security Server.
