Problem Description

Remove the Worry-Free Remote Manager (WFRM) Agent for Worry-Free Business Security (WFBS) manually.

Solution

To uninstall the Agent:
  1. Stop the Trend Micro Worry-Free Remote Manager Agent Service.
    1. Click Start > Run.
    2. Type "cmd" on the command line and then press Enter.
    3. Run this command:
      net stop "Trend Micro Worry-Free Remote Manager Agent"
  2. Remove the Trend Micro Worry-Free Remote Manager Agent Service.
    1. On the command line, run the following commands:
      • cd <WFRM Agent directory>
        Example: cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\WFRMAgentForWFBS\
      • TMICAgent -u
    2. Close the command line.
  3. Remove the Trend Micro Worry-Free Remote Manager Agent files.
    1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\.
    2. Delete WFRMAgentForWFBS.
  4. Open the Registry Editor ( regedit.exe ) and remove the following registry keys:
    Important: Always create a backup before modifying the registry. Incorrect registry changes may cause serious issues. Should this occur, restore it by referring to the "Restoring the Registry" Help topic in Regedit.exe or the "Restoring a Registry Key" Help topic in Regedt32.exe.
    In 32-bit environments:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\TMIC4CSM
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\ 369424C6301A6CF458091236AA616879

  5. To remove all remnants from the registry, search for "remote manager”. Check results and after verifying that those keys are Worry Free Remote Manager entries delete them all.
  6. Remove the WFRM Agent shortcut from the Start Menu.
    1. Click Start > All Programs.
    2. Right-click Trend Micro Worry-Free Remote Manager Agent.
    3. Delete the browsed folder.
      Example: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Trend Micro Worry-Free Remote Manager Agent
