There are three types of scan that you can run using Trend Micro Internet Security Pro, Trend Micro Internet Security and Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware 2009: Full System Scan, Quick Scan and Custom scan.

Quick Scan is a new scan option in the latest versions of the Trend Micro Consumer Product. Ideally suited for scanning large drives, the Quick Scan targets specific areas in your drive that is usually prone to infection. Quick Scan is the default option when you click on just the Scan Now button.

To run a Quick Scan:

Open the Trend Micro Internet Security main console.
|

On the main console, click on Scan Now.
|

The Full System Scan option of the program checks all other areas not scanned during the Quick Scan. Trend Micro recommends running a Full System Scan to make sure that your computer is fully protected. It is set to run every 15 days as default.

To run a Full System Scan:

Open the Trend Micro Internet Security main console.
|
|

On the right side of Scan Now,click on the inverted triangle. Among the options presented, click on Full System Scan.

Click on Full System Scan to run the scan for your whole system.
|

|
Custom Scan gives you flexibility to scan other areas and drives that you specify. You can scan hard disk partitions, USB removable drives, CD-Rom’s and any computer within your network.

Open the Trend Micro Internet Security main console.
|

On the right side of Scan Now,click on the inverted triangle. Among the options presented, click on Custom Scan.

The Custom Scan window appears.
|
|

Click on the Targets tab. Under Select Targets, click on the plus sign (+) on the left of My Computer to show the other areas you can scan. Ticking the box next to My Computer will scan your whole system. This is the same for My Network Places. Clicking on the plus sign (+) next to My Network will show other computers in your network. Ticking the box next to My Network Places will scan your whole network.

Click on the Settings tab to configure your Custom Scan settings. You can change other scan settings such what types of files to scan and how to respond on threats found.

Once all are set, click on Start Scan to start running the scan.
