h.

Click Next. The Computer Prescan page appears.

i.

Set the prescan option to one of these:

o

Prescan my computer for threats

Note: If you select this, a threat progress screen will appear when scanning is taking place.

o

j.

Click Next. The Setup Type page appears.

k.

Select the installation method you prefer:

o

This option provides a simple and easy solution for installing WFBS using Trend Micro default values.

o

Custom

This option provides flexibility in implementing your network security strategy. This method is suitable if you have many computers and servers or multiple Exchange servers.

l.

Click Next. The Setup Overview page appears.

This completes the pre-installation tasks.

2.

Configure the Security Server and WFBS console settings.

a.

On the Setup Overview page, click Next. The Installation Stage page appears with Security Server icon highlighted.

b.

Click Next. The Server Identification page appears.

c.

Choose from one of the following server identification options for client-server communication:

o

Domain name

If you select this, make sure to verify the target server's domain name. You can also use the server's FQDN if necessary to ensure successful client-server communication.

o

IP address

If you select this, make sure that the target server's IP address is correct, and that the machine where you are installing the Security Server has a static IP address.

Note: If the server has multiple network interface cards (NICs), Trend Micro recommends using one of these IP addresses, instead of the domain name or FQDN.

d.

Specify the target directory where the Security Server will be installed.

If you chose Typical installation in Step 1j, the Program Folder page appears. Type the location where the program shortcuts will be stored in the Program folder field, or accept the default location, then click Next.

e.

When the Web Server page appears, select a web server to host the web console.

f.

Click Next.

g.

Configure the web server settings.

h.

Click Next. The Proxy Server page appears.

If a proxy server is required to access the Internet, select the Use a proxy server checkbox, then provide the necessary information.

i.

Click Next. The SMTP Server and Notification Recipient(s) page appears.

j.

Enter the required information for the SMTP server, Port and Recipient(s) fields.

Notes:

o

If the SMTP server is on the same computer as WFBS and is using port 25, the installation program detects the name of the SMTP server and updates the SMTP Server and Port fields.

o

You can update the SMTP settings after installation. Refer to the Administrator's Guide for instructions.

k.

Click Next. The Administrator Account Password page appears.

l.

Under Security Server Web console section, enter and confirm the password. This password is required every time you log on to the WFBS console.

m.

Under Client/Server Security Agents section, enter and confirm the password. This password is required to uninstall the Client/Server Security Agents.

n.

Click Next. The Trend Micro Smart Protection Network page appears.

o.

Choose whether or not to participate in the Trend Micro Smart Protection Network feedback program. You can choose to cancel participation through the web console later.
