To upgrade the Trend Micro program on your Dell computer, please do the following:

1.

Take note of your serial number since you will be using this when you install the upgrade.

Uninstall PC-cillin Internet Security 12 for Dell. For instructions, check this solution:

Download the installer.

Note: This installer is compatible with Windows XP and the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista.

4.

Click Save on the File Download window.

5.

Select Desktop as the location, then click Save.

6.

Wait until the download is complete.

7.

Start the installation by doing the following:

a.

Start the installation by double-clicking the file you downloaded.

b.

Wait for the program to extract the necessary files.

c.

Read the license agreement, then select I accept the terms of the license agreement.

d.

Click Next.

e.

Type your serial number, then click Next.

Note: You can find your serial number on the Order Confirmation email you received after buying the product. If you cannot find this email, go to our online store's Download Information page.

f.

Click Install.

g.

Wait for the installation to finish.

h.

Click Next to activate the program modules.

i.

Wait for the modules to finish activating.

8.

Activate or register your subscription. Follow the steps below:

a.

Do either of the following to sign in to or create a Trend Micro account:

If you do not have a Trend Micro account yet: Fill up the required fields, then click Next.

If you already have a Trend Micro account: Click Sign In, then type your email address and password on the filed provided.

Note: Click Forgot your password? If you have forgotten your password.

You will receive confirmation of your registration with your serial number and expiry date.

b.

Click Next.

c.

Select the type of connection you are using to access the Internet, then click Next.

d.

Select whether you want to protect additional computers (you are allowed to install the software on up to two more computers), then click Next.

9.
