I cannot uninstall my Trend Micro product after the installation failed

Problem Description

 

Solution

Some files of Trend Micro Internet Security Pro, Trend Micro Internet Security, Trend Micro AntiVirus plus Antispyware are still left in the computer. You can completely remove all Trend Micro files by using the support tool TISSuprt.exe.

 

To remove Trend Micro files using the TISSuprt.exe, please follow the steps below:

 


Important:
We recommend that you print out this document before proceeding because you will be asked to restart your computer during the procedure.



1.

Close the main console if it is open.

   

2.

Click on Start > My Computer.

   

3.

Double-click Local Disk C: then double-click on the Program Files folder.

   

4.

Double-click on the Trend Micro folder to open it.

   

5.

Open the Internet Security subfolder.

   

6.

Double-click on the TISSuprt.exe file. It has a red and white lifesaver icon.

   

7.

When the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit window appears, click on the [E] Uninstall tab.

 

   

8.

Click Uninstall.

 

   

9.

When you are asked if you want to continue with the uninstallation, click on the UnInstall button again .

   
 

Note: If a message appears asking you to delete quarantined files, click Yes to proceed with the uninstallation.

   

10.

When you are prompted to restart your computer, click Yes.

   

11.

After you restarting, click on Start > My Computer or Computer > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files.


Check if the Trend Micro folder is still present. If it is, right-click on the Trend Micro folder and select Delete. Otherwise, close all open windows.

   

If you are unable to find the file or if you encounter uninstallation issues, download the standalone file and follow the instructions in solution EN-1037161.
