Problem Description

This article shows you how to register your account and activate your Trend Micro Smart Surfing for Mac subscription. This will allow you to download updates and protect your computer from the latest security threats.

 

You can also refer to this article when you receive the following error message:

 

 

"Unable to Contact Trend Micro"

Solution

To activate your subscription, please follow the steps below:

 

1.

Go to registration or activation screen.

 

 

 

 

You can access this page via the main console or the Protection Status window. Follow the steps for whichever method you would like to use:

Via the main console

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

a.

Open Trend Micro Smart Surfing for Mac. This will bring up the main console window.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For instructions on how to do this, refer to solution EN-1054392.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

b.

Click on the expiration date in the lower right corner of the screen.

Click Register Now.

Via the Protection Status window

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Click on the Activate Now button.

 

 

 

 

 

2.

Fill up the required fields in the activation form, then click Continue.

 

 

 

 

 

 

You will receive an email containing your registration details.

 

 

 

If you receive the message that your serial number is already in use (shown below), do the following:

Select Use this serial number to activate Trend Smart Surfing here.

 

 

 

 

 

 

b.

Type in the password you used when you first registered your account.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you have forgotten your password, click on the Forgot your password link.

 

 

 

If the email address displayed in the sign-in page is not yours, make sure you have your proof of purchase on hand, then submit an online case to Trend Micro Support.
