Client Server Messaging Security for SMB - 3.6; Client/Server Security SMB - 3.6; Worry-Free Business Security Standard/Advanced - 5.1, 6.0, 7.0
Windows - 2003 Standard Server Edition, 2008 Datacenter Server, 2008 Enterprise Server, 2008 Small Business Server, 2008 Standard Server Edition, 2008 Web Server Edition

Problem Description

The WFBS database is probably corrupted if you encounter any of the following:

You are unable to log on, or the console hangs after logging on to the Security Server console.

The dbserver.exe process has high CPU usage.

There are no groups under Security Settings tab.

Client/Server Security Agents (CSA) are not appearing on the console, or they all can connect to the Security Server without issues but are showing as offline even when the client services are running.

The license information under Preferences > Product License is missing.

Solution

Please do the following to recreate the database:

1. From the Security Server, use the Microsoft Services console to stop the Trend Micro Security Server Master Service.

2. Using Task Manager, make sure that the following processes are not running.

    ·  ofcservice.exe
    ·  dbserver.exe

3. Go to the %ProgramFiles%\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV directory and look for the HTTPDB folder.

4. Make a backup copy of the HTTPDB folder (Example: HTTPDB_backup), and then delete all the contents of the original HTTPDB folder.

Note: Doing this will retain the original folder security and permissions.

5. Return to the Services console and restart the Trend Micro Security Server Master Service.

Note: When restarting the Master Service, no client will appear. However, when the clients reboot, get update from the server or when the Client/Server Security Agent Listener is restarted, the database will automatically be repopulated.

6. From any CSA, open the Services console and restart the Trend Micro Client/Server Security Agent Listener service.

Note: This step does not apply to WFBS 6.0 SP1 / SP2/SP3 if Client self-protection is enabled. Follow this procedure instead: How to unload the CSA, and then go to Step 6.

7. Log on to the WFBS console.

8. Go to the Security Settings page and refresh it after 30 seconds.

If the issue still occurs, contact Trend Micro Technical Support and provide the Case Diagnostic Tool (CDT) log generated on the WFBS server.

For the instructions on how to get the CDT logs, refer to this solution: How to use the CDT to collect all the information needed by Trend Micro Technical Support.
