How to generate Trend Micro HiJackThis logs for malware analysis

HijackThis™ is a free utility which quickly scans your Windows computer to find settings that may have been changed by spyware, malware or other unwanted programs. HijackThis creates a report, or log file, with the results of the scan.

Follow the steps below on how to download and run HiJackThis:
|

Download Trend Micro HiJackThis and save it on your desktop.
|
|
b.
|
On the File Download window, click on Save.
|
|
c.
|
The Save As window appears. Click on Desktop as the location and click on Save.
|

|
|
d.
|
Double-click on HiJackThis.exe to run the program.
|
|
e.
|
Click on I Accept to accept the License Agreement.
|

The Trend Micro HiJackThis window appears.
|

Click on Do a system scan and save a logfile.
|

A text file named hijackthis.log will appear and be automatically saved on the desktop.

Send this HiJackThis logfile to Trend Micro Consumer Technical Support for assistance on how to remove malware on your computer.
