Note: If you have an older version installed you have to uninstall it first. If not, proceed to the steps below.
To download and install the full version of Trend Micro Internet Security, please do the following:
- Download and run the installer by clicking your Windows operating system below:
Note: Click here to check if you are running a 32-bit or 64-bit version of your Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating system.
- Wait while the contents are extracted and the setup programs checks if your computer meets the program's system requirements.
- Read the License Agreement, then select I accept the terms of the license agreement.
- Click Next.
- Type your serial number on the field provided when prompted, then click Next.
Note: Your serial number can be found in your Order Confirmation email if you purchased the product online, or you can find it inside the box or packet if you bought this at a retail store.
- Start the installation by selecting Regular Installation (which will use the recommended settings), then clicking Next.
The setup program will display the progress of the installation.
- Wait for the installation to finish. This may take a few minutes.
- Activate your subscription by doing the following:
If you are connected to the Internet when the program modules finish activating, you will automatically be asked to register your account. If not, you will need to trigger the activation manually.
For instructions on activating your subscription, click on which computer you are installing the program on:
- Run an initial update and scan. You can do this by following the steps below:
- Open your Trend Micro program by double-clicking the Trend Micro icon on your desktop or in your system tray near your computer's clock.

- Once the program has opened, click Update Now, then wait for it to finish.
- Click Scan Now.
