How do I uninstall and reinstall the Personal Firewall of my Trend Micro program?

Problem Description

You can use the Support Diagnostic Toolkit (TISTOOL.exe) to uninstall and reinstall the Trend Micro Internet Security Personal Firewall.

Solution

Please do the following: 

    
Uninstalling the Personal Firewall
    
Important: We recommend that you print out this document before proceeding because you will be asked to restart your computer during the procedure.
    
1. Close all open programs on your computer. If the Trend Micro Internet Security main console is open, close it.
         

 2.

Click Start > Programs or All Programs > Trend Micro Internet Security > Trend Micro Support Diagnostic Toolkit.
    
Note: If you are using Windows Vista, right-click on Trend Micro Support Diagnostic Toolkit then select Run as administrator. If a User Account Control window appears, click Continue, or enter the password for an administrator account then click OK.
    
3. On the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit window, click the [E] Uninstall tab.
    
4. Under "Uninstall the Software or Firewall", click 2. Uninstall firewall.
    

    
5. When the confirmation message appears, click Uninstall. 
    

    
6. The following window appears showing the progress of the uninstallation. Wait for it to finish.
    

    
7. When a message appears asking you to restart your computer, click Yes to restart and complete the uninstallation.
    

    
    

Installing the Personal Firewall

    

1. Close all open programs on your computer. If the Trend Micro Internet Security main console is open, close it.
    
2. Click Start > Programs or All Programs > Trend Micro Internet Security > Trend Micro Support Diagnostic Toolkit.
    
Note: If you are using Windows Vista, right-click on Trend Micro Support Diagnostic Toolkit then select Run as administrator. If a User Account Control window appears, click Continue, or enter the password for an administrator account then click OK.
    
3. Click the [E] Uninstall tab.
    
4. Under "Uninstall the Software or Firewall", click 2. Install firewall.
    

    
5. When the confirmation message appears, click Install.
    

    
6. The following window appears showing the progress of the installation. Wait for it to finish.
    

    
7. When the installation is complete, click Close.
    

    
8. Close the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit.
