How do I prevent the Real-time Protection of Trend Micro Internet Security from scanning specific files or folders?

Problem Description

This article shows you how to add the following to the trusted or exception list:

Programs

Solution

To prevent specific files or folders from being scanned, please do the following:

   

1.

Open the Trend Micro Internet Security main console by doing any of the following:

   
 

Click Start > Programs or All Programs > Trend Micro Internet Security > Trend Micro Internet Security.

 

Double-click the Trend Micro Internet Security icon on the lower right corner of your screen.

   

2.

Click Virus & Spyware Controls on the left panel.

   

3.

Under Protection Against Viruses & Spyware, click Settings.

   
 

   

4.

On the Settings for Protection Against Viruses & Spyware screen, click Advanced Settings.

   
 

   

5.

Beside "Ignore specific files and folders", click select.

   
 

   

6.

On the Specify Exceptions screen, click Add file to exclude a specific file, or Add folder to exclude a specific folder.

   
 

   

7.

Select the file or folder you want to exclude, then click Open or OK. The file or folder appears on the Exception List.

   
 

   

8.

When you are done adding files and folders, click OK three times.

   

9.

Close the Trend Micro Internet Security main console.
