Do a pre-installation check to ensure a smooth installation. Refer to solution EN-1053687 for more information on what to check for.
|

|
|
|
2.
|
Run the Trend Micro Internet Security 2009 installer using a CD or downloadable file.
|
|
|
|
|
|

To use downloaded files, do the following:
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

Download the installer by clicking on your operating system below:
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

|
Windows XP
|
|
|
|
|
o
|
Windows Vista 32-bit
|
|
|
|
|
o
|
Windows Vista 64-bit
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Note: To find out whether you are running Windows Vista 32-bit or 64-bit, refer to solution EN-1038409. The 64-bit version of Windows XP is not supported by this product at this time.

Click on the link for your operating system above.
|
|
|
|

On the File Download window, click Save.
|
|
|
|

When the Save As window appears, click Desktop from the left pane as the location, then click Save.
|

Wait for the download to finish.
|

Double-click on the downloaded file or click Run on the Download Complete window to start the installation.

To use a CD installer, do the following:

Note: You can purchase the program CD from a retail store near you.

Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive. The Autorun window will appear.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

|
On the installation window, click Install Program to start the setup.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

Wait while the contents are extracted and the setup program checks that your computer meets the system requirements.
|
|
|
|
|

|
Read the contents of the License Agreement, select I accept the Agreement, and click Next.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

To install the full version of the program, type your serial number into the field provided, then click Next. To install a trial version, select Install a free trial then click Next.
|

|
|
|
|
|
Note: If you are not sure where to find your serial number, refer to solution EN-1038047.

Select your preferred Install Option.
|
|
|
|
|
|

To use the recommended settings, retain the selection for Regular Installation and click Next.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

To customize your installation, click Custom Installation and click Next.
|
|
|
|
|
7.
|
Wait while the program is installed and its modules are activated.
|
|
|
|
|
8.
|
Activate your subscription.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
If you are connected to the Internet when the program modules finish activating, a window asking you to register your program will appear automatically.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
If not, you will need to trigger the activation manually.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

9.
|
Run an initial update and scan.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
