Here is how you can set the Personal Firewall to allow or block specific programs:

1.

Open the PC-cillin Internet Security main console by doing any of the following:

Click Start > Programs or All Programs > Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2007 > Main Console

Double-click the PC-cillin Internet Security icon on the lower right corner of your screen.

Click Personal Network & Firewall Controls on the left panel.

Under Personal Firewall, click Settings...

4.

Check the Current Firewall Profile indicated at the top of the screen.

Under Personal Firewall Profiles Available, click the profile indicated in Current Firewall Profile.

Click Edit. This opens the Add or Edit Personal Firewall Profile window.

Click the Program Control tab.

Click Add. This opens the Add or Edit Personal Firewall Control Rule window:

In the box beside Name of program control rule, type the name of the program that you want the Personal Firewall to allow or block.

Under Target, do either of the following:

To allow or block a specific program, select Specified program. Type its location in the box or click Browse then select the program file.

To allow or block Windows system files, select Operating system components.

Under Setting, select Simple Mode. If you want to specify the IP settings, ports, and protocols to allow or block, select Advanced Mode.

If you selected Simple Mode:

a.

Select the action that the Personal Firewall will take for all connections of the specified program:

Select Allow to let the program connect normally with the Internet or your local network.

Select Deny to block the program from connecting to the Internet or your local network.

Select Warn to display a message asking if you want to allow the program to connect.

Click OK.

If you selected Advanced Mode:

a.

Click Add. This opens the Add or Edit Personal Firewall Rule window:

Beside Connection, select the direction of the connection to allow or block (Incoming, Outgoing or Both).

Beside Action, select the action to be taken for the connection of the specified program (Allow, Deny, or Warn).

d.

Under Protocol, select the protocol to which the rule applies. If you are not sure, select TCP/UDP.

Under Port(s), select All ports to allow or block the program from communicating on all ports. To allow or block communication on specific ports, select Specified port(s) then type the port numbers in the box.

f.

Under IP Setting, select the type of IP addresses to which the rule applies:

All IP addresses – applies to all IP addresses.

IP address – applies to a specific IP address you type in the box. You can also type the hostname and click Resolve to get the IP address.

IP address range – applies to a specific range of IP addresses. Type the first and last address in the range.

Subnet mask – applies to a specific subnet mask of the IP address you specify.

Broadcast – applies to connections to all IP addresses in your network.

Multicast – applies to connections to a specific range of IP addresses in your network.

Note: If you are not sure, select All IP addresses.

g.

Click OK.

12.

Click OK three times.

Close the PC-cillin Internet Security main console.
