How do I generate debug logs for my Trend Micro product's 2009 version?

Problem Description

This article shows you how to generate debug logs for your Trend Micro product's 2009 version.

Solution

Use the Trend Micro Support Diagnostic Toolkit to automatically collect the different log files and information needed to resolve performance issues.

 

1.

Close all open programs.

   

2.

Repeat all the actions you made before you encountered the problem.

   

3.

When the error re-appears, use the Trend Micro Support Diagnostic Toolkit to collect the information generated by the product.

   
 

a.

Click Start > All Programs > Trend Micro Internet Security > Trend Micro Support Diagnostic Toolkit.

     
   

     
 

b.

Click on the Debug tab. The Information Collection Wizard window will appear.

     
 

c.

Click Start Collection.

     
   

     
 

d.

Put a checkmark on all items except VSAPI driver. You will only need to check VSAPI driver box if your scan window closes abnormally.

Uncheck Restart software components if necessary for logging and then click Next.

     
   

     
 

f.

If it asked you to restart your computer, choose No.

     
 

g.

Put a checkmark on the Already finished reproducing the problem and then click the Start button.

 

 

 
   

     
   

     
 

h.

After collecting the logs, a window will appear showing you where the logs are located. Click Finish.

     
   

     
 

i.

If it asked you to restart your computer, choose No.

     
 

j.

Click the Open Folder button to get the collected debug logs.

     
   

     
 

k.

Send the zipped file to Trend Micro Consumer Support for analysis.

     
 

Note: You can also open the support website to upload the zipped debug logs by clicking on the Open Support Web button in the Trend Micro Support Diagnostic Toolkit.
