How to disable or re-enable your Trend Micro program without uninstalling

Problem Description

In order to analyze issues I am encountering with my computer, I need to disable my Trend Micro program, but I do not want to uninstall it from my computer.

Solution

To temporarily disable your Trend Micro program, please follow the steps below:

 

1.

Right-click on the Trend Micro icon in your taskbar (located in your system tray, near your computer’s clock).

 

For Windows XP

For Windows Vista or Windows 7

 

 

 

2.

From the menu that appears, click Exit.

 

 

For Windows XP

For Windows Vista or Windows 7

 

 

3.

When a window asking you to confirm that you want to disable the program appears, click Yes.

 

 

 

All components of your Trend Micro program will be disabled.

     
If Exit cannot be found, please do the following steps to disable Trend Micro:
  1. Go to Start > My Computer or Computer > Local Disk C: > Program Files folder > Trend Micro folder > Titanium.
  2. Look for the SupportTool.exe file, then double-click it.
  3. Go to (C) Uninstall tab.
  4. Click 5. Stop All Components.
    All components of your Trend Micro program will be disabled.

To re-enable your Trend Micro program, do the following:

 

 

1.

Close all open programs.

 

 

2.

Restart your computer.

     

 

Once your system starts up again, you will see the Trend Micro icon in your taskbar, which will indicate that the program has been enabled.
