What is Worry-Free Business Security Hosted 2.5?

 

WFBS-H 2.5 is a service that allows for remotely managing the security of small businesses. It consists of an OfficeScan 8.0 Client/Server with an add-on executable program (WFBS-H Agent) on the OfficeScan Client and License Control Module on the OfficeScan Server.

WFBS-H Portal available to the client for administration

What operating systems does WFBS-H protect?

 

WFBS-H protects desktops and laptops with the following operating systems:

 

Microsoft Windows Professional SP4 or later

 

Windows XP SP2 or later

 

Windows Vista (Home, Business Enterprise, or Ultimate Edition)

What are the key advantages of WFBS-H over consumer solutions?

 

WFBS-H solution is appropriate for small businesses without servers and which are looking for a business-grade solution to protect desktops or roaming laptops that may be in various locations or remote offices.

 

WFBS-H only has a single console for monitoring multiple desktops and PCs without any additional software or hardware. Also, no configuration or managing of updates is required. WFBS-H also does not require a local server for management and registration.

 

Consumer solutions do not offer a console to manage multiple desktops or laptops from one location. They are installed and maintained in your premise, by you.

How confidential is the WFBS-H service?

 

The WFBS-H service is a secure service. No one at Trend Micro or anywhere else can access your console or view your reports or logs without your user name and password.

Will my information be kept private?

 

Yes. Any information from your desktop or laptop that you send over the Internet to our Trend Micro data center is secured using the HTTPS protocol. Any information on Trend Micro security servers is strictly confidential and protected by measures determined by our security experts.

If I am not connected to the Internet, am I still protected?

 

Yes. Client software is installed on the protected PC or laptop. As a result, Trend Micro defends PCs whether they are offline or online. Also, if a computer cannot access the Internet, the probability of exposure to threats is greatly decreased. But to get the latest protection, you need to have working Internet connection.

Target customer size is below 100 users, with the sweet spot around 3-15 users per company.

Yes. Trend Micro encourages you to use the trial version of WFBS-H and evaluate it. This allows you to experience the service and to test how the service functions for different types of users.

Public Beta information

Q12:

Will Public Beta be offered globally?

 

Public Beta will be offered globally to all Trend Micro customers and partners. English language will be available this October 2008. For other languages, please see below:

 

German, French and Spanish languages: end of November 2008

 

Italian: mid- December 2008

What is the duration period of the Public Beta for WFBS-H?

 

Trend Micro plans to continue the Public Beta period until March 31, 2009.

How do I sign up for the Public Beta of WFBS-H?

 

Sign up for the beta by filling out the form to begin the process. Signing up only takes 5 minutes.

Q15:

What happens during the trial period?

 

When the license expires within 60 days, the portal will show a yellow alert.

60 days after expiry, there will be no more pattern updates of the agents.

90 days after expiry, you cannot log in to the portal.

105 days after expiry, all records will be deleted.

How do I provide feedback to Trend Micro?

 

During your evaluation period, please provide feedback in English by sending an email to: wfbsh-beta@trendmicro.com.

Yes, database information will be migrated when upgrading from trial version to full version.

No, you cannot upgrade CSM, WFBS or OfficeScan clients to WFBS-H.
