o

Where can I get information on how to upgrade my CS / CSM 3.x or WFBS trial version?

Please refer to the following solutions:

Upgrading CS 3.5 or 3.6 to WFBS Standard 5.0

Upgrading CSM 3.5 or 3.6 to WFBS Advanced 5.0

No.As long as you are currently under maintenance, you will receive a free upgrade to the new version.

o

Are all of the settings / configuration parameters preserved when migrating from CSM 3.0 to version 3.6 to WFBS Advanced 5.0?

Yes. If administrators would like to backup important files and/or configuration, refer to this solution.

o

I am a customer of CSM 3.6 bundled with Email Reputation Services (ERS) Hosted and I want to upgrade to WFBS Advanced. Can I use all three services at the same time?

No. These three services require different MTA and DNS configurations, and will then create conflict with the email configuration. For more information, refer to this solution: What is the difference between ERS, ERS Hosted, and Hosted Email Security (HES)?

o

I am a customer of CSM 3.6 bundled with ERS Hosted and I want to upgrade to WFBS Advanced. What email services are available to me?

You can use ERS Hosted, or switch to ERS standalone or to HES - Inbound Filtering.

o

If I wish to switch from ERS Hosted to ERS standalone, are there any configuration changes on my end?

Yes. These two services need different configurations. ERS Hosted needs MX record redirection while ERS standalone does not.  If you will switch from ERS Hosted to ERS standalone, you need to bring back the original DNS settings (MX Record).

o

Can I use HES / HES - Inbound Filtering together with ERS Hosted / standalone?

No. If you wish to use HES / HES - Inbound Filtering, you need to disable your ERS configuration and redirect your MX to our IMHS servers. For more information, refer to this solution: What is the difference between ERS, ERS Hosted, and HES / HES - Inbound Filtering?

o

Am I required to activate IMHS Standard?

No. You can choose not to if you already have a hosted service or if you do not want to use HES - Inbound Filtering or ERS. WFBS Advanced 5.0 is bundled with free HES - Inbound Filtering. For more information, refer to this solution: What is the difference between ERS, ERS Hosted, and HES / HES - Inbound Filtering?

o

WFBS 5.0 will not support IA64 as an OfficeScan client. Also, the following operating systems will not be supported anymore:

For OfficeScan clients: Windows NT4 Server and Workstation, Windows ME, Windows 98 and Windows 95

For OfficeScan server: Windows NT4 Server and Workstation
