Programs like Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook slow down

 

These may occur after you install or upgrade to version 3.5/3.6 of Client Server Messaging Security for SMB (CSM) or Client Server Security for SMB (CS).

This issue is related to the PCCNTmon.exe process on the Client/Server Security Agent. Normally, this process checks for the latest updates and uploads virus logs to the server. It reads only through the folders in \Program Files\Trend Micro\OfficeScan Client.

 

However, the PCCNTmon.exe process in version 3.5/3.6 behaves differently. It reads through the folders in the home directories of your users, which may cause the events listed above.

 

To fix this issue, apply the following hot fix:

 

Version 3.5: Hot Fix Build 1142

Version 3.6: Hot Fix Build 1142
