I get the error “This program has known compatibility issues” when installing my Trend Micro program on Windows 7

Problem:

I get the following error message when installing Trend Micro Internet Security Pro, Trend Micro Internet Security, or Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware on a computer running Windows 7:

 

 

This program has known compatibility issues.

 

 

 

 

 

Check online to see if solutions are available from the Microsoft website. If solutions are found, Windows will automatically display a website that lists steps you can take.

 

 

Then when I click on the Check for Solutions Online button, the following message appears:

 

 

No solutions found for Trend Micro Internet Security 2009.

If you are running Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security versions 12 (2005) or 14 for Dell, these are not compatible with Windows 7, and you will need to upgrade to Trend Micro Internet Security 16.6 for Dell. The upgrade is free as long as your subscription has not yet expired.
