Before upgrading to the latest version of Trend Micro Internet Security, please make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements of the program. You cannot install the program if your computer does not meet these requirements. This must include a working Internet connection.

For users running PC-cillin Internet Security 2006 or PC-cillin Internet Security 2007, click here first for instructions on how to completely remove your PC-cillin program using the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit before installing the latest version of Trend Micro Internet Security.

Once you are ready to install the new version of Trend Micro Internet Security, refer to the steps below:

1.

Close all open programs and windows.

2.

Click here to download the installer file for Trend Micro Internet Security 2009.

Note: For Windows Vista users, check if you are running the 32-bit or 64-bit version. Click here for more information on how to verify this.

3.

Save the installer file onto your Desktop, then double-click on it to start the installation process.

4.

Wait while the installer checks your system requirements.

Note: If the setup detects an older version of Trend Micro Internet Security installed on your computer, you will be prompted to upgrade to the latest version. Click Yes to proceed. This will automatically remove the previous versions of Trend Micro Internet Security.

5.

When the License Agreement window appears, read the license agreement, select I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click Next.

6.

Enter your existing serial number then click Next.

7.

To start the installation, do any of the following:

•

Click Regular Installation (Recommended) and click Next. The setup program will display the progress of the installation.

•

Click Custom Installation if you want to customize your installation and click Next. The setup program will display the progress of the installation.

8.

Wait for the installation to finish. This may take a few minutes.

Note: If older versions of Trend Micro Internet Security are detected on your system, you will be prompted to restart the computer. Click Restart Now, and the installation will proceed automatically once you are back on.

9.

Wait for Trend Micro to finish setting up its components

10.

When the installation is complete, the Installation Successful message will appear.

11.

Click Open Console to configure the settings and activate the program.

12.

The main console opens up after the installation is finished.
