How to register your 2008 or 2009 Trend Micro product on a primary computer

Problem:

This article provides you with instructions on how to register your program on your first or primary computer if you have a current subscription for version 2008 or 2009 of either Trend Micro Internet Security or Trend Micro Security Pro, which protects up to three (3) different computers.

 
Important:
The newest versions of these products are the 2010 versions. Trend Micro strongly recommends upgrading to the latest versions to keep your protection as complete and up-to-date as possible. For instructions on how to do this, refer to the following solutions:

For instructions on how to activate your subscription after installing your Home and Home Office program on your first or primary computer, please select the version (year) of the software you are registering:

 

·   

Version 2009

·   

Version 2008 (also applicable for Trend Micro Internet Security 16.6 for Dell)

 

For Trend Micro Internet Security Pro 2009 or Trend Micro Internet Security 2009:

 

1.

Go to the Activate Now window.

 

 

 

·     

If you are connected to the Internet when the installation for your product completes, you will be prompted to register your program, and the window will load up automatically.

 

 

 

 

·     

If you are not connected to the Internet when your product finishes installing on your computer, do the following:

 

 

 

 

 

a.

Connect to the Internet.

 

 

 

 

 

 

b.

Open your Trend Micro program to bring up the main console window.

 

 

 

 

 

 

c.

Click Activate Now.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2.

Choose whether you will be creating a new account or signing into an account using a previously registered email address and password. For more details on your options, see below:

 

 

 

·     

If your email address has never been used to register any Trend Micro product, do the following:

 

 

 

 

 

a.

Select Create a new account.

 

 

 

 

 

 

b.

Type the email address you wish to register with Trend Micro into the field provided.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Note: If the email address you typed in is a unique entry in the Trend Micro database, meaning that no other accounts have the same address registered, a green checkmark will appear beside it and you can continue. If the email address has been registered before, refer to the next option, which is signing in to an existing account.

 

 

 

 

 

 

c.

Fill up the required fields on the form.

 

 

 

 

 

 

d.

Click Next.

If you already have an existing account with Trend Micro, do the following:

 

 

 

 

 

Note: If you are not sure whether or not you have registered your email address with Trend Micro before, follow the steps in the previous option. If a red X appears next to your email address, you already have a Trend Micro account.

 

 

 

 

 

a.

Select Sign into your Trend Micro account.

 

 

 

 

 

 

b.

Type your email address into the field provided.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Note: If you have forgotten your email address or password, you can click on the appropriate links in the image shown below. If you have forgotten both your email address and your password, create a new account using your current email address.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3.

Once your protection has been activated, click Finish.
